Using archive samples

An archive sample already on file saves you sending in a new one and gives breeding clubs a reliable basis for long-term testing. Individual animal owners and whole breeding communities benefit alike.

Benefits of archive samples

Everyone benefits from archive samples: individual animal owners appreciate the advantages of our sample archiving service just as much as whole breeding clubs. Here you'll find the benefits of archive samples and how to make use of them.

For breeding

Stable, long-term testing

Centrally archived samples serve as a reliable basis for diagnostics across the whole population, which breeding clubs and breeder associations coordinate through DNA programs.

For animal owners

Further tests without a new sample

Save time and money on a new sample collection and shipment. We can get straight to work on your order.

Availability of archive samples

An archive sample is already on file under these circumstances:

  • You've already ordered a test for this animal that included sample storage.
  • You're a member of a breeding club that works with us in a DNA program, and you've registered your animal there.

Drawing on archive samples

With archive samples, you can order additional tests without having to send in a new DNA sample.

  1. Open "animal files"

In your online account, you'll find a shopping cart icon at the end of every animal file under My animal files.

  2. Go to the order section

Clicking the icon takes you straight to the Order DNA test section of that animal file.
